Blood Brothers of the Dunes: The Three Men You Want in a Firefight [Character Profiles]

In the Sahara, your rank doesn’t save you.

The man standing next to you does.

These three soldiers form the iron core of the unit. They are the ones who volunteer for the suicide missions, the ones who infiltrate enemy camps, and the ones who refuse to leave a brother behind.

Meet the fighters of the Sahara Adventure Series.

FILE #001: Teuns Stegmann (The ‘Suid-Afrikaner’)

  • Role: The Unofficial Commander.

  • The Secret: He claims to be a soldier of fortune, but he is actually a wealthy wine farmer from South Africa’s Hex River Valley. He joined the Legion for one reason. Vengeance. He is hunting the men who killed his pilot brother during WWII.

  • Combat Style: Master of Disguise. He speaks Arabic fluently and often infiltrates enemy camps dressed as a local. In Sword of Destruction, he uses a throwing knife with lethal precision to save his own life.

  • Fatal Flaw: Hero Complex. He cannot say no to a damsel in distress or a child in danger. The death of the Arab boy, Kemal, in The Goras Bloodbath nearly broke him.

FILE #002: Fritz Mundt (The Iron Fist)

  • Role: The Heavy Weapons Expert.

  • The Secret: He acts like a brute who only cares about beer and food, but he is hiding a heart that breaks for his friends. He is the terrifying loyalty that holds the group together.

  • Combat Style: Why use a gun when you can throw a fuel drum? Fritz treats hand grenades like cricket balls and enemy soldiers like ragdolls.

  • Fatal Flaw: Impulsiveness. In The Goras Bloodbath, he nearly ruins a stealth ambush by trying to smash a rebel leader’s head in with a rifle butt out of pure anger.

FILE #003: Jack Ritchie (The Gentleman)

  • Role: The Sharpshooter.

  • The Secret: He maintains the facade of a refined Brit even in the filth of a dungeon, hiding the pain of a “noble life” lost.

  • Combat Style: Precision. While the others brawl, Jack takes the calculated shot. He is also an expert pilot, capable of flying stolen bombers when the situation demands it.

  • Fatal Flaw: Overconfidence. He often assumes he can outride or outmaneuver the enemy, leading him into tight spots during the high-speed chases in Book 39.

They are the best the Legion has.
But in the later books, they face enemies that bullets can’t kill. Betrayal from within and ghosts from the past.

Join the patrol.
Experience the brotherhood and the bloodshed in Book 34: Footprints of Betrayal.
